Lord Denman, the Governor-General, referred'* to his retirement owing to ill-health and private reasons. Certain Bills that were not passed in the first session would be presented, also a proposal for the co-operation of the Commonwealth with the States regarding immigration. A Bill would be introduced giving additional powers to control over combines likely to affect injuriously the trade of Australia.
