THE UNIVERSITY SENATE.
DEGREES CONFERRED. [Per PrESIS AISHOOIATION. ] Wellington, April 8. The University Senate session has concluded. The following degrees were conferred,:— Bachelor of Laws.-—Harry James Durham. BachMor of Arts.—Frank Percy Burton. Master of Science.—Alfred Barrett Jameson. Bachelor of Medicine, and Bachelor of Surgery.—lrwin E. Paris, Roland A. H. Fulton, Frederick Cameron, Bertram H. Gilmour, Hugh Short, Chas. E. Hurcus. Bachelor of Medicine.—Douglas G. Macpherson. The 1851 scholarship was awarded to Eric Oswald Horens, of the Otago University. Eict passages to England were awarded Alfred B. Jameson (Auckland), and Bella Dytes Cross (Canterbury). ILe C. H. H. Cook prize in mathematics was awarded to William Merion Jones (Auckland), and the Julius von Haast prize in Geology to Alban Charles T. Purchas (Canterbury); It was reported that there was no essay worthy of the award of the Habeas prize in engineering. A travelling scholarship was awarded to Thomas Dalrymple Smith (Canterbury) .
