A. AND P. ASSOCIATION.

MEETING OF COMMITTEE. The general committee of the Stratford A. and P. Association met on Saturday afternoon, Mr J. D. Healy (president) being in the chair. REPORT BY EXECUTIVE. The executive committee presented the following report - The grounds are in very good order, and have been leased lor this year to Mr A. F. Cuff. Improvements carried out since last meeting are as follows: —The entrance drive has been metalled from the gate to a point opposite tlie produce shed. A footpath has also been formed and metalled the same distance. The fences, have been tightened and are now in' good repair. Since our last meeting the annual show has been held, and was an unqualified success, and the thanks of the Association are due to all those who acted iu Utile capacity of stewards, judges, etc. Preparations for the Gymkhana on Easter Monday are well in hand and entries are coming to' hand freely, the advertising is being pushed, and all that is now required is a fine day.

The various Taranaki Associations held a meeting in February to elect a member to the proposed Board of Agriculture. The election resulted in the return of Mr 11. Dingle, a member of this Committee. , A conference of Associations from Wanganui to Xew Plymouth is to be held in Haweru .on Monday next to. discuss matters affecting our mutual interests. This Association has elected Messrs R. Dingle, W. H. H. Young iml W. P. Kirkwood as its delegates, uid has forwarded the following remits :

1. That the Associations represented it the conference agree to carry out all the recommendations passed by die conference.

2. That in the yearling heifer classes, an animal only, to be allowed ,to mmpete in one class. .‘I. That the conference consider the uiostion of outside gate charges.

After the Gymkhana the executive vi 11 consider the question of arranging i trip to the Moumahaki State Farm or members. , ,

The gift calves were collected for last Tuesday’s sale, but owing to the large entry of other cattle at the sale, were not offered,, and will be sold next Tuesday at 12 o’clock. Mr Mellow seconded. . Mr J. B. Richards appealed to members of the committee and of the I Association to push the Gymkhana. It had to, he remembered that at the Gymkhana there were no paid officers—everybody was giving his services free. They had had a good gathering last year and they did not desire to see any retrogression. The motion was carried. THE LUNCHEON ROOM. Mr D. J. Malone urged that a wooden floor he put in the luncheon room. With an ear them floor, he said, it was very hard to keep the place clean. Mr Healy said the matter was under consideration by the committee, and a sub-committee had been set up to consider it. NEW MEMBERS. On Mr B. On’s motion Messrs J. Marra, R. Jones and L. Bolt were elected members of the Association, THE GIFT CALVES. A vote of thanks was passed to those gentlenqen who had lent paddocks in connection with the collection of gift calves. THE ANNUAL' MEETING. The annual meeting of the Association is to be hold next month.
