Remarkable Moslem enterprise is being shown in the University at Medina. The Wakuf contributes £lO,000 annually towards its upkeep and £BO,OOO for the building and equipment. The instruction includes engineering and agriculture.
Medina, or Medinat-al Nabi (city of the prophet) is a city in Arabia, oue of the two rendered sacred by connection with the founder of the Mahometan faith. The town is walled with massive gates and towers. The tomb of Mahomet is here. The body of the prophet is supposed to be undecayed, beneath a slab of black marble, but when the mosque, having been struck by lightning, was rebuilt 260 years after his death, there* was nobody in the grave.
