REPORT.
On Wednesday last we held our usual weekly sale at our Inglewood yards, and had a fair yarding, practically everything being disposed of at the following prices :—Fat and forward cows £5 14s to £0 9s, store cows £3 5s to £4 7s Gd, light and old cows 35s to £3, in calf heifers £3 12s to £4 15s, 18 to 20 month steers £3 to £3 /s 6d, bulls £4 to £4 10s, weaners 18s to 38s, colored weaper heifers 34s fid, fat ewes and wethers 15s 6d, mixed aged ewes 9s, rams 10s 6cl. On Friday, 20th inst., at Ivaponga, I had a heavy yaxding of cattle, all pens, races, and paddocks being crammed. Competition throughout was keen, practically everything yarded being cleared at the hammer at the following prices Weaner steers, good sorts, in demand, £1 13s, £1 11s, £1 10s 6d, others 16s 6d. to 19s od’ for weedy sorts, choice Jersey weaner heifers £1 19s (id to £2 2s 6d, others, good strong grades £1 4s to £1 11s, pooy 9s,fo 17s, mixed weaners £1 16s, £1 11s 6d, £1 10s 6d, £1 10s, £1 7s’, £1 4s, £1 2s, £l, 18s, 16s, 10s, 18 months heifers, £3 6s heavy fat cows £6 12s to ,£7 12s, small framed cows £s ; }Bsto, £6 7s, forward cows £4 13s to £5 12s, gooc| store cpws £3 4s to £3 18 & agefj cows £1 to £2 12s 6d, bulls (heavy) £() to £B„7s v smaller hulls £2 8s to £4 12s. At Uruti on Friday, 20th inst., for iny supplementary sheep fair and cattle sale I had a full yarding. The quality of the sheep entered was firstclass and-drew brisk bidding, all lines being sold. The,2-tooth wethers yarded were very good. Lambs were not in as good condition as the average at previous sales,; Prices obtained
were as follows:—Weaners £] 15 s , £1 13s, £1 Bs, £1 ss, £1 3s, £1 2s 6d, £l, 17s, 10s, 18, month empty heifers £2 10s to £3, in calf 18 month heifers £3 ,9s, 2 and 2] year in calf heifers (rather ragged). £3 15s to £4s 4s, rough steers (mixed ages) £1 12s 6d to £3, fat bullocks £9 ] s Cd, store cows £2 10s to £3 7s, springing heifers £4 17s to £6 15s, forward cows £4 10s to £4 18s, small fat cows £5 3s to £5 16s, bulls £2 10s to £5, lambs 8s Id, 6s 9d, 6s Bd, 6s 6d, 5s 10d, 3s Id, good line of 2-tooth ewes 16s, 2tooth wethers, good quality, 15s lOd, 15s 7d, 15s 6d, 15s Id, 14s Vd, 14 s 6d’ 4-tooth wethers 16s 6d to 17s, fat ewes (heavy) 16s 3d, others 14s 6d to 15s 3d, fat and forward ewes 13s, mixed aged ewes 12s 9d, nice line of’6-tooth and f.f.m. Romney ewes 14s 7d, f.m. ewes 10s lOd, 9s 3d, 8s lid, 8s lOd, 8s 7d, 8s Id, 7s, 5s Bd, rams I.} to 2} gns, aged rams up to I3s. On Monday, 23rd inst., at Urenui, there was a fair entry, of which I was able to clear the majority at the following prices Small 15 to 18 months heifers £2 10s and £2 11s, rough 15 and 18 months steers £2 16s 6d, aged cows £1 5s to £2 2s 6d, store cows £2 12s 6d to £3 ss, forward and fat cows £5 2s to £5 15s, springing noifois £4 10s to £5 I<S 6d, a nice line of springing Holstein dairy cows n,. ie offered on account of Mr Ilk ((onion Glassford and sold very readily at from £8 5s to £lO ss, bulls £2 10s, 3 year steers £7 ss, fat ewes and wethers 16s 6d and 17s, f.m. ewes 4s 3d to 9s 4d, 2-tooth wethers (small) J4s lambs 7s 3d.
On Tuesday, 24th, at Rahotu, owing to the very rough day, I • ad only a small, entry, which sold as ,'ollows:
