Mr Hugh Richmond, who is on holiday, returned, from East Cape, Hawke's Bay. on Satiirday, and is staying at Beaconsfteld Road.
Mr 11. Spence left this morning for Wellington. After spending two or three days on the "West Coast he leaves for Sydney en route for England. He expects to he absent from Stratford for about twelve months.
Sergeant T. Griffith, who has been in charge of the Hawera police station for four years, is retiriug on superannuation on March 31.' Ke has been in the service for about 3S years, with the exception of' a broken period of seven months.
Mr Harry Trotter, of Stratford, was married on Tuesday last to Miss Agnes Brown, youngest daughter of Mr Robert Brown, of Hutt Road, Petone, where the ceremony took place. The Petone Chronicle states the bride looked charming in a cream silk dress trimmed with pearls, and ffbre the orthodox veil and orange blossoms. Miss Alexander, who acted as bridesmaid, was gowned in pale silk daintily trimmed with lace. Both the bride and bridesmaid carried bouquets. The honeymoon was spent, at Wanganui.
