LATE LOCALS.
The Hon. Mr Fisher has received information that the Royal assent has been granted'to the Shipping and Seamen’s Amendment Act of last session, which will come into operation when gazetted, says the Press Association.
The ways of the practical joker are many, and the latest in Stratford is “just out.” One member of a certain friendly society offered a trophy “worth a guinea” as a first prize in a quoits match, and the participants last night, played for dear life. The winner joined in the hearty laugh when handed a box of Beecham’s pills “worth a guinea a box.”
