ACCIDENTS & FATALITIES.
A SAWMILL ACCIDENT.
[Per Press Association.) Dargaville, March 17
This afternoon, Harold Anderson, proprietor of the Dargaville sawmill, met with a misty accident. Whilst dogging a log preparatory to hauling to the saw, a wedge slipped, and a chip off the log entered his right eye. It is feared that he will lose the right eye.
A SUDDEN DEATH.
Dunedin, March 17
Advice was received from Palmerston North to-night that James Ross, a married man with four or five children, was found lying on the road at Green Valley to-day. He was taken to Du aback, hut died before a doctor arrived. The deceased was a shepherd, and had been driving a mob of sheep.
A LITTLE BOY DROWNED.
Invercargill, March 17
A fivo-year-old boy, named Crawford, was drowned in a pool near the Bluff to-day. The boy and a companion had been cray-iishing, when the little fellow somehow fell in.
WOMAN SUICIDE.
Oamaru, March 18
Honorah Brooker, married, hanged herself at her residence last night. The woman’s nerves were shattered as the result of a long period of indifferent health.
