AMUSEMENTS.

HIS MAJESTY'S PICTURES. To-night’s new sorios of pictures at ’ Bernard’s Theatre introduces an en- ’ tirely unscathed programme direct . from Wellington. The leading picture, entitled “Seed of the Fathers,” fea- ’ tures Miss Marian Leonard, Monopole’s famous and latest actress. The film is 5000 ft. in length, and fairly holds one enthralled from start to finish. Tire latest Gaumont Graphic depicts up-to-date doings throughout , the world. “Love one Another” is a dramagraph in colors by Bathe’s famous players, and is stated to be a plot . of unusual interest. The comic portion of the programme is headed by Keystone’s limit in screamers, “The Fatal Taxicab.” “Great Progress in. Aviation” is a film which depicts an aerodrome with two masts in the centre and a wire stretched between them. As the monoplane approaches, the pilot flies under the wire, and an. apparatus fixed to the top of his wings clasps it; after running along for a short distance, the machine becomes suspended in mid-air. The pilot starts the motor again, the aeroplane slides along the wire until it comes to the other end, when it automatically releases itself, and continues its flight. This device allows an aeroplane to “land” on or start from a ship or from any other position with the greatest ease. Not the least among the’many attractions of Bernard’s Pictures is the professional orchestra, which just now is putting on a splendid programme, embracing some of the latest and most catchy music. The famous colored Biblical drama, “Life of Christ,” will be screened on Friday and Saturday next. TOWN HALL PICTURES. The pictures last night were screened before an appreciative audience.
