From this he took a roll of cotton wool i which, on being unrolled, disclosed jan uncut' diamond weighing 1/8' ■ carats. Mr Bowker explained that lie had found this wonderful stone in the dry diggings on .the Vaal River a few miles from Kimberley, and decided to market the lind in London. That is why he is walking about London with a diamond nearly as large as the Koh-i-Xoor in his waistcoat pocket. He is not disclosing the price at which lie values Jus find.
