London, March 7. A flying corps base is being es tablished at Dover, to cost £45,000. HAWKER'S NARROW ESCAPE. Svdnev. March 7.

When Hawker was descending from a height of 7000 feet at Albury, the engine stopped a hundred feet from the ground, and the machine dived sharply. The machine was damaged, hut Hawker was uninjured.
