LATE LOCALS.

Dr. Hinton, of Adelaide, has just celebrated his 101st birthday. A cablegram to-day states that ho has been unable to walk for two years owing to a fracture of the thigh, but his mental faculties are keen. Dr. Hinton lias lived in six reigns. Mr J. B. Hino, M.P. for Stratford, has received notification from the Hon. Mr Rhodes that Dr. Frank Hitchcock, who has been appointed to Wbangamomona, left by the steamer Afrie on February 21th, and is due in Sydney on April 16th, arriving in New Zealand about a week later
