Visitors’ Handicap, 440yds—Hardwick (scr) 1, Champion (scr) 2. Masters and Sinton also started. Champion and Hardwick were almost even till the last two laps. Hardwick, who had gained perceptibly by his greater cleverness in turning, now forged slowly ahead and won by three yards amid great excitement. Time, smin 35sec.
