Gorigillan Handicap (for ladies), 50 yards—Miss Durack (scr) 1, Miss Farquhar 2. Time, 30secs, a New Zealand record. Neat Header-—Miss Durack.
Visitors’ Handicap, 440yds—Hardwick (scr) 1, Champion (scr) 2. Masters and Sinton also started. Champion and Hardwick were almost even till the last two laps. Hardwick, who had gained perceptibly by his greater cleverness in turning, now forged slowly ahead and won by three yards amid great excitement. Time, smin 35sec.
