METROPOLITAN SHOPS OPEN. [By Flectrio Telegraph—Copyright] [United Press Association.} (Received 9.30 a.m.) Sydney, March 5. The master butchers state that every shop in the metropolitan area will be opened to-day. They allege that many volunteers offered, including a number of Unionist shopmen ; they also claim that 5000 farmers and their sons will to Sydney from the country if needed. The men deny that any Unionists returned, but a meeting will be held this afternoon, at which the leader will explain the position as far as the offer of the masters to re-engage the Unionists is concerned.
