STRATFORD’S M.P. ALIVE TO DISTRICT NEEDS. Mr ,1. B. Mine, M.P. lor the district, forwarded the following telegram from Paekakariki this, morning:—• Shortage of Metal Trucks. A deputation interviewed the Minister of Kail ways yesterday regarding tlie shortage of trucks for the haulage of metal at Whangamomona. The Minister agreed to supply the trucks if possible. Stanley Road Bridge. The deputation was promised favorable consideration of a subsidy for the Stanley Road bridge. The renewal of other grants on the Estimates will be authorised upon application with the proposals for expenditure from local authorities approved by resident engineer. Whanga’s Police Accommodation. The Justice Department is also moving in the matter of obtaining better accommodation for a police station at Whangamomona. The offer of a site and a house under offer, has been accepted by the Department.
