FIRES.

TIMBER YARD AND DWELLING DESTROYED. [Per Press [Association.] Christehurch, February 26. Hunsley's timber yard in the City and also a two-storey building occupied by Wilkins-Bros., cabinet makers, were destroyed by fire early this morning. A heavy southerly gale was blowing when the outbreak was discovered, and the'fire spread rapidly. Hunsley was .uninsured. Wilkins was insured for £l5O, the damage amounting to £3OO. Rankin Bros, and Kaighley lost- some timber. J. D. Brown had a quantity of timber badly damaged. Hunslev's loss is heavy.
