The entries for the electric-light carnival on Tuesday next closed last night, and it seems certain that good sport is in store. The entries for the race for boys under sixteen include one each from Inglewood and Hawera. The long race (225yds) should be a “classy” event, as in addition to the local cracks, two Hawera and four Inglewood topuotcliers will compete. Another good event should he the relay race, teams being entered by Stratford, Hawera, Inglewood and Eltham. The polo match will probably be between Hawera Imd Stratford. The Hawera men are experts, but the local men are expected to put up a good fight. The ladies aave entered well, the entry of twenty including two from Inglewood.
