Orville Wright, interviewed regarding the trans-Atlantic aeroplane trip, said it was impracticable and foolhardy. Any airman" who attempts with the present engines, to cover similar distances on land must fail. THE CHANNEL RACE. New York, February 12. Glenn Curtis, replying to Orville Wright, thinks that a Trans-Atlantic flight is perfectly feasible. A special motor can easily be developed to carry the necessary additional weight. IMPROVED BIPLANES. Two biplanes, one for the Army and the other for the Navy, is being constructed at Los Angeles. The machine for tht> Army will be propelled by a 80 h.p. engine, and will have a steel armour that' can be taken off in a few minutes. The machine will be convertible into a hydroplane, and will be adapted for alighting and starting on either land or water. Times—Sydney Sun Special Cables. Paris, February 11. The Aero Club members are training for the London to Paris return air race in May. M. Provost, nionoplaning at VillaGoublay, carried a quick-firing gun a*nd passenger, operating successfully. A FRENCH APPEAL. ("Received 8.0 a.m.) Paris, February 12. Le Temps appeals for more encouragement for French airmen, | pointing out that the French records are being beaten by the Germans, I that night-flying is discouraged in France but carefully studied in Germany, and that prizes are awarded from a National fund. NEW ALTITUDE RECORD. Berlin, February 12. Aviator Theln with four passengers bos created an altitude record oi 1 2850 metres.
