ANCIENT ORDER OF FORESTERS.
ANNUAL DISTRICT MEETING. Tlio annual meeting of the Ancient Order of Foresters (Taranaki District) was held in the Foresters’ Hall, Stratford yesterday. Present: D.S.C.Bp S^ Bro. A. J. Way (in the chair), ]).s.’ Bro. A. Coldwell, D.T. Bro. H.C'K, Canley, D.S. Bro. C. Tunbridge. The following represented the under-men-tioned courts: Court Taranaki, P.C.R. Bro. J. Lister; Court Waireka, P.D.C.R. Bro. A. Tunbridge and P.C.R. Bro. T. M. Avery; Court Raleigh, Secretary Bro. C. H. Tate; Court Kgmont, Bro. W. H. Rudge; • Court Inglewood. Forest, P.C.R. Bro. iG. Kennedy and P.C.R. Bro. H. 'Stimpson: Court Pride of Eltham, j P.C.R. Bro. R. Butcher; Court Pride of New Plymouth, Sister D. Tunbridge ; Court Lady Islington, Sister S. McMillan. The District Officers' report stated that the number of members at the beginning pf the year was 1477; admitted during the year 12’8; number of juvenile members, 41; honorary members, 14; members left by arrears, 71; by clearance, 1;" by death, 9; total members at tho end of the year, 1579, being an increase of 47 adult members. Tug total worth of the District is as follows:—Court sick and funeral funds, £28,639 10s llfd; management funds, £275 8s BJd; district funds, £592 15s 4d; surplus fund, Court Taranaki, £524 Is 9d; nail fund, jCourt Waireka, £733 18s 7d; juveniles’ | fund, £SOO 10s 8d; value of goods in I stock, £64 7s lOd, being a total value !of funds at the end of the year of j £31,320 13s lOd, or a net of £1626 5s SRI. During the year there were nine j male members and three j wives dic'd, the ■sum of £335 being , paid out for funeral money, or an injcrease of £55 for the year. | The sickness of the members was 11706 weeks, and the sum paid for sick pay totalled £1239 3s Bd, being an j increase for the year of £2 17s 3d. ) Bros. C. F. Foote, C. T. Mills, and v ■A. H. Arnold were re-elected auditors. !- It was decided to hold the next District delegate meeting at Ingle- . I wood. ! Kivell was pre- : seated with a jewel in honor of past i services as District Chief Ranger. | The delegates and officers were received and entertained by the members of Courts Stratford and Lady Islington.
j A lengthy report was read from % B.D.C.R. Bro. C. H. Weston, who ■ | represented this District at the High I Court meeting of Foresters held in Manchester, England, and it was resolve'! that the District place on record its appreciation of the services by Bro.-Weston while in England.
