THE SUFFRAGETTES.
Br Electric Telegraph—Copyright! [United Press Association.] London, February 7. A now suffragette society lias been formed, consisting of men and women. Tho only qualification of membership is that the member shall'regard the giving of the suffrage to women as the foremost political issue of the day. It is intended to institute a campaign in every electorate and keep pestering . the . politicians by demonstrations and deputations and heckling at public meetings. SYLVIA'S NEW BRANCH. London, February 7. Sylvia Panic hurst's branch of the suffragettes has become independent, and is re-named "The East End Federation." The newspaper "Suffragette" declares her supporters" ji'i'o chiefly socialists. Miss Christabel Pankhurst; . interviewed in Paris, says she does not intend to return to England. If her mother died she did not think, of abandoning the Women's Political Union. Sylvia's (her sister's) differences therewith made it necessary for Sylvia to organise 'an independent association. , Paris, February 7. Le Matin states that Christabel has realised the campaign of violence and incendiarism did more harm than good to the cause.
