TARANAKI'S PRESBYTERY.
The Taranaki Presbytery met on Thursday in the Church Hall, Ha-n-era. for ordinary business. There were three ministers and six elders •present. Apologies for absence were received from Messrs. Roseveare, Pattison and Ireland. Jn the absence )f the Moderator, Rev. Mr Robertson was voted to the chair.
Rev. Mr Pattison was appointed Moderator of Presbvterv for 1914.
It was reported that Mr Liiiiewall l iad been appointed to the Toko Station, and Mr Raven to Inglewood. The latter has had the misfortune to ireak his leg, and is at present";in tho Auckland hospital. It was agreed to empower Mr Dunlop (Waitara) to baptize, Mr Bailey ■Okato) to baptize and administer the Lord's Supper, and to add the names if both these gentlemen to the list if officiating ministers under the Marriage Act.
The Presbytery's balance sheet, sub. nitted by the treasurer, was adopted. It was agreed to appoint Messrs Pattison (convenor) and Robertson, vith their representative elders, a ■ommission to visit New Plymouth aid report to the April meeting. It was agreed to appoint Mr Welsh to examine the half-yearly sermons from the Home Missionaries, and report to the April meeting.
The clerk was authorised to make enquiries for a suitable evangelist 'or a series of meetings through the Presbytery, and report to next meetng on April 2nd. The meeting concluded with the Heiiediction.
