Under an order of attachment Frank Harris, director ot “Modern Society,” was arrested lor publishing comments on the impending Melville—Platt — Fit/.william divorce case. (Received 10.15 a.m.) London, February 3. The “Modern Society’s” article included references to Earl Fitzwilliam as a “sly dog” concealing Leslie Melville in an episode which occurred !while the King and Queen were visiting him in Yorkshire in the summer, when lie commented on Lady Fitzwilliam’s attitude, suggesting she could tell a story about her husband. Justice Horridge stated that the comments were extremely objectionable and prejudicial to co-respondent. They were not a sample of what the press of England did. He committed Harris for an indefinite period, as he had had an opportunity to apologise, but had not done so.
