THE MURDER OF REEKS.

The Daily Mail states that Rogers was detained by the Canadian police at Saint Johns on the arrival of the Grampian. He admits his real name is Joseph Rowland, but denies he knew Reeks. Only six dollars were found in his possession. He declares he lost a wallet containing £2B near Wolverhampton. He decided to return to Canada, where he had resided for several years. The authorities consider his statements not frank, and are holding him until they can confirm his previous residence in Canada.
HIS DISCREDITED STORY.

A report from St. Jolm’s states that Rogers now admits to the local sergeant that Finlay and he met with Reeks at an hotel in England. The story is discredited by the Wolverhampton police.
STATEMENT BY ROGERS’ SISTER.
(Received 11.15 a.m.) London, February 3
Rogers’ sister, in an interview, states that she does not believe her brother knew Reeks.
