At the annual conference of the A.W.U., Mr Spence, president, mentioned the condition of New Zealand unionists. The Dominion Courts were ■a factor in favor,of wealth. In contradistinction were the gains obtained by employees through the medium of the Commonwealth Concilaition and Arbitration Court. Although the purchasing power of the sovereign had decreased,' the experience of Australian arbitration should be a gain over and above the value of the decrease. The time was at hand when labor would have no chance unless it took control of the Government, the military, and the police. ...
