STRIKERS AS UNEMPLOYED.

Upon the advice of union officials, the builders’ strikers have presented themselves to the Government for registration as unemployed workmen. Under instructions from the Board of Trade, the applications were received without question. Whether the claims will be admitted is another matter.
THE FEDERATION’S RESOLUTION

The Builders’ Industries Federation resolved that all workers withdraw from jobs where , the builders discharged some for not signing. The decision affects the plumbers, crane drivers, and others, though their masters never required them to sign an agreement. PRINTERS’ STRIKE ENDED. (Received 9.45 a.m.) Launceston, January 29. The printers’ strike has ended, terms having been arranged.
