Frederick Johnson was fined £3O and costs yesterday for allowing his premises to be a place of resort for the consumption of liquor He was also convicted for keeping liquor for sale. Eight young men who were found on

the premises when the search warrant was executed were fined 20s each.

ARBITRATION COURT.

Wellington, January 26

The result of the ballot for a representative of the workers on the Arbitration Court, and for a deputy-repre-sentative, is announced. Mr J. MeCullough has been re-elected as representative, and Mr E. J. Carey replaces Mr W. T. Young as deputy. The figures are not yet available.
