PRESS' UNANIMOUS REGRETS

(Received 10.5 a.m.) Sydney, January

The Press express unanimous regrets at Lord Denman's resignation. The Herald says the place indeed will be difficult to fill. The tributes of public men eulogise his courage in the face of physical disabilities in carrying out his arduous duties. It was specially unfortunate that so successful an occupant of the post should bo subjected to the'/ shabby discourtesy and meanness associated with his eviction from Government House.
