YOUNG IMMIGRANTS.

[Per Press Association.] Auckland, January 20

Fifty-one hoy immigrants under the Clovernment scheme arrived by the Ayrshire from Liverpool this morning. Billets await them. Twenty-four are going north to Auckland, and 27 to southern farmers. The boys receive 7s 6d per week first year, 6s 6d being stopped until CIO is accumulated to repay passage money; second year they receive 12s 6d, and third year 17s 6d weekly. The boys’ ages range from 15 to 20. Some appear fullygrown men. There appears to bo some discontent among a number of the lads, who state that it was understood the wages quoted were the minimum, and that others would be paid according to their ability.
