u NAPIER BURGLARIES. [Pee Press Association.] Napier, January 20

Six or nine months ago Napier was subjected to an epidemic of burglaries, and all the efforts of the police to discover the perpetrators proved futile. Quito unexpectedly, however, fresh light was thrown on the mystery by the arrest of David Conway Burn at Hastings. A quantity of the missing valuables were found in his possession, and prisoner admitted being concerned in two of the' burglaries. Subsequently a man named Carpenter was arrested at Auckland on a charge of being concerned in the thefts.
