RIFLE SHOOTING.
TARANAKI CHALLENGE SHIELD
The first match for -The Taranaki challenge .shield was fired oh Thursday at Kaponga, when the Kaponga Rifle Club defeated Eltham by 27 points. The conditions were eight men a-side, seven shots at each of the 300, 500 and GOO yards ranges., , The respective scores were: Kaponga 740, Eltham 713. Rifleman F. Vincent, of Eltham, with 97, was the top scorer for the day. KapongaV shooting was very consistent, Rifleman Guy scoring 96, Pres. Guy 95, Rifleman A. Harrison 95, Rifleman O’Neill 94 and Rifleman C.
