Obituary : Rev. Canon * Goodyear ; aged sixty-threc (states a Jan range P.A. telegram!. He was superintending the Maori Mission in the Bay of Plenty, including Rotorua, and was the last of the Maori missioned sent out by the Church Missionary Society. He arrived in M a iron, Hawke’s Bav, in 1878, and went to Maketou in 1883 and to Tauranga m 1896. Deceased leaves a widow, two sons, and seven daughters. He was ailing for some weeks mentally.
