AMUSEMENTS.
BERNARD'S PICTURES. To-night's now series of pictures is stated to be the strongest yet screened in Stratford. The star drama is .'5500 feet in length, and entitled "From Circus to Racecourse," displaying gorgeously colored photography and brilliant acting, being vivid depictions of circus life. In the race for the "Grand Prix," the Bine Riband of the French turf, the plot introduces one of the most thrilling stories ever told. "Yokohama Fire "Depot" is an interesting travel picture, showing how the Japanese fight the fire-devil. The fire-fighting apparatus contrasts strangely with that of the western nations, but shows a great advance over that used in Japan fifty years ago, before European and American civilisation made itself felt. The supporting pictures are all of the best. The comics, headed by Keystone's big comedy hit, "The Kiot," is about the biggest laughter-raiser yet taken.
