DEATH FROM EXPOSURE.

Christchurch, January 15
The body of a man named Shaw, aged . 24, who arrived at Hamner Springs from Christchurch on the Bth and who had been missing since Sunday evening, was found near the waterfall. Ho had apparently been dead two days.
FATAL FALL DOWN HOLD.
Christchurch, January 15
An accident, which terminated fatally, occurred at Lyttelton this afternoon. Walter George Steward, a waterside worker, 60 years of age, was dosing a hatch, on the Tainui, when his feet slipped from under him and he plunged into the well of the hold, some 18 feet, striking the second deck heavily. His left arm and collar-bone and several ribs were broken. The injured man gradually sank and died from shock.
THROWN FROM A WAGON.
Auckland, January 15.
A man named Wattam, a wagoner, employed at Ohinewai, was found unconscious on the roadside, having been thrown out of a wagon. Wattam sustained a fractured collar-bone and bruises oh the head, and is suffering from concussion. His condition is regarded as serious. FATAL FALL FROM A LADDER. . Dunedin, January 15. At the inquest on George Lindsay, who died yesterday as a result of injuries received from {'lining from a ladder at the Milburn Lime and Cement "Works, medical evidence showed that the cause of death was laceration and softening of the brain, caused by concussion, and a verdict was returned accordingly, no blame being attachable to anyone.
