FIRE AT A PAPER MILL.

A portion of the .Cumberland paper mills at Lane Cove was destroyed by lire. The damage is estimated at £lO,000.
ATTEMPTED SUICIDE.
Sydney, January 9
Thomas Gallagher, a wharf laborer, who recently arrived from New Zealand, jumped from the Pyrmout Bridge into the Darling Harbor. He*was rescued and taken to the police recep-tion-house.
