BOY DROWNED AT SYDENHAM. [Per Press Association.] Christchurch, January 2. A fifteen-year-old-boy-, named Alfred Joseph Davidson, living at Sydenham, was drowned in the Heathcote River this afternoon. He could not swim, and got out of bis depth. Two young men were with him at the time. ‘The body was recovered an hour later. HEART FAILURE. Christchurch, January 2. William George Blood, aged 59 vears, who was .hoarding in Allen street, died suddenly this afternoon, It is supposed from heart failure. A CHILD DROWNED. Napier, January '
Leonard Hughes, aged eight years, a son of Mr Albert Hughes, was drowned this morning while bathing in the Tuatakere River. The body has not been recovered.
WHILE THE BILLY BOILED
Janies Kilkinson, who was shooting iu the vicinity of Waitati to-day, mot with a serious accident. He was boiling a .billy in the afternoon, but as the fire was slow lie poked it with the butt of a rifle, which went off, the bullet lodging in his groin. He was brought to tin* hospital to-night.
