OUTBREAK IN GOAL BLINKERS.

Melbourne, December 27
The steamer I ford, bound from Dun bury to Auckland with a cargo of jarrah timber, put back to port, her bunker of coal being discovered to be on tire on Wednesday when 200 miles south of Adelaide.
The ciew, working hard with the pumps, managed to keep the fire in check, hut several suffered severely from the consequences of the fumes of smoke. It was found they were unable to overcome the fire, and it was denied to put hack to .Melbourne. r J lie lire is still hurnnig, and probably it will lie necessary to completely Hood the hunkers. The lire is supposed to have been caused by spontaneous combustion.
