XMAS IN WELLINGTON.
SPLENDID TRADE PROSPECTS. [Per Press Association.] Notwithstanding the strike, tradespeople report that the Xmas trade is booming, and is fully up to last year’s, and in many oases, considerably better. The settlement of the labor trouble let purse strings loose, and the people are spending freely. There is a great influx of visitors for the holiday, the iUardie Liras carnival being the special attraction. The weather prospects arc excellent.
