At last Friday's meeting the executive of the A. and P. The ponies and horses were turned loose for, a, few .minutes on the township; the ranger promptly "arrested" the lot. The committee in charge of the presentation to Mr W. Morant Bayly met on Saturday night, when it was decided that the presentation of an illn initiated address and purse of sovereigns he made next Saturday afternoon, at some hour convenient for country residents. The committeeis to meet again on Thursday evening to make final arrangements.
I Durng the past month the Eltham Co-operative Dairy Company received 7,086,4171i)s of milk, making 8,460 cheeses. Tlio pay-out for the period has not been decided upon (states the Argus) as much difficulty is still being experienced in securing the loading of the produce upon the Home boats. a large amount being still in store. The total value of the month's production is about £13,000. and the com-
pany are endeavoring to pay out at die rate of Is per lb. of butter-fat as near the usual date as possible.
The Stratford branch of the Taranaki Provincial Scottish Society met on Friday evening, when it was decided to take over the uniforms of the Taranaki Caledonian Pipe Band. It was decided that a Burns supper be held on or about January 26th next., and that Mr J. Craigie, M.P. for Tiniaru, be asked to lie present ana propose the toast "The Immortal Memorv of Robert Burns."

Owing to some oversight the name of Miss Tory Abbott, who won first prize for Madeira cake in the homo industries section at the recent Show, was omitted from the prize-list published in the Post. Yesterday was observed as Bihle-in-Schools Sunday throughout the churches of the Dominion, references to the subject being made in all the Anglican, Presbyterian and Methodist churches and Salvation Army citadels. The Salvation Army was the only body in'Stratford to make special mention yesterday of the matter, which had been dealt with specially by tho churches on a recent Sunday.
