RESULTS IN DEATH OF NURSE.
An accident which occurred at Vae•ination Depot at the Sydney Town Tall on November 22 resulted in the, itaath'i of /Nunso; Bessie MetYifield. ;.,

She was handing, it is stated, near a large, ottle of methylated spirits',''l which as used to wash the arms of ,pa:e.,its fteU/e skin was'scra'tehed and he lymph applied. 'ln some manner, s .yet 'unexplained, the bottle came •ito contact with the light under the terilising dish. The resultant, expiuipn in the bottle set .fire to? 'the urse's clothing. The attendants at he depot extinguished the flames, but ot before severe burns had been irilicted. The nurse was removed to he Sydney Hospital and progress was. t&tisfactory up till Wednesday of last peek, when a collapse ended in her leath.
Nurse. Merriftel'd, who was 25 .years Id, was a daughter of Dr. S. S. Vfenilield, of "Montana," Findlaytvenue, Chatswood, and had been a •esident of'Bombala for some 20 .ears. For the last month or two Nurse Me'rrineld attended to all the vaccinations at the Town Hall depot.
