FIZLINC OUT IN DUNEDIN.
ARBITRATIONI&TS IN STRENGTH. [Per Press (Association.] Nelson, December 11. The strikers held a meeting last evening of a lively nature. The meeting was. addressed by two West Coast delegates from the waterside conference.
Mr C. Nelson, president, who has exercised a wise and restraining influence during the strike, resigned.
There, is every indication-that the majority will return.to work next week. Apparently there are only about seven extremists in the union.
'There is a general feeling that the watersiders would have resumed long ago if the seamen, and -firemen were not still out on their behalf. It is freely stated that the majority are full up of the Federation and its tactics. The Arbitration Union is in a strong position and is likely to be. The ar-s ri\ v aj of a Home boat next week is expected to bring things to a head. THREATENING LANGUAGE. Dunedin, December 11. Thos. Walker.and James Nort, men*. hereof the old waterside union, were fined £3 each and 1 bound over to keep the peace for sixmonths, for threatening language to the president of the neW Arbitration -Union. There were thirty additions to the membership of the new waterside union, 15 being members of the old union. Fifteen hundred are working on the wharves to-day, Avhich the largest since the strike began. SHEARERS' SYMPATHETIC STRIKE. Timaru, December 11.
