The Stratford Band.
CORRESPONDENCE.
WHERE IS IT?
[To The Editor Stratford Post.] Sir, —You will doubtless agree with me that the musical combination—per medium of the united bands—heard at the recent fixture of the A. and P. Show was indeed a treat, and proves that there is still local musical talent of no mean order. Our band, I understand, is subsidised by the municipality, and 1 would like to know if they are under agreement to render any stated number of concerts for this subsidy? If so, why not the fulfilment !of this agreement? I would also like ,to know if the band have held their (annual meeting, and if so, was the report published? Our bandsmen have doubtless been rusteicating, but with more combination, practice and energy displayed there is no reason why a prosperous and progressive town like this should not possess a band of the first water. Hoping that this matter will be further ventilated by those interested in seeing our local hand once more to the front.—l am, etc., SUPPORTER.
