.Mr S. Spence left for Auckland last evening. The death of Air Alfred Stedall,, a well-known racehorse owner, is announced from London.
Air Craven, Chairman of Committees of the Victorian Assembly, is dead, reports a Alelbourne cablegram.
Air J. It. L. Stanford, who lias been health-recruiting in Australia, reached Auckland yesterday in the Maheno. Ho arrives in Stratford this evening.
Air C. S. Kinnaird, foreman of the Colonial Sugar Refining Company’s works at Chelsea, Auckland, is retiring on superannuation after 36 years’ service.
Colonel A. AV. Robin, C. 8., who has been attached to the colonial section of the British War Office, is due to arrive in Sydney on December 20, and is expected to reach Wellington on Christmas Eve.
ft is understood that the body of Frank Walsh, the young man recently killed while 1 taking shelter behind some trucks during a thunderstorm at Forbes, N.S.W., will be brought to New Zealand for interment by bis parents, who went over, and will probably sail for New Zealand next Saturday.
