ON NORFOLK ISLAND.

IBt Electric Telegraph—Copyright] i United Press Association.] (Received 10.40 a.m.) Melbourne, November 22. The House passed a Bill providing the transfer of Norfolk Island to the Commonwealth, including a clause prohibiting the manufacture, importation or sale of alcoholic liquors; also an amendment in favor of taking a local option poll of the residents. Mr Glynn asked the committee to negative the amended clause. At present the only sale of liquor on the Island was for medicinal purposes and in the hands of missions and magistrates .
