A SAD SUICIDE.

Auckland, November 20
A case of suicide occurred at Newmarket this afternoon, when Alary Alice Hare, wife of Frederick W. Hare, schoolmaster, hanged herself in her home. Hare left the house at ■about 8 a.m. to attend school. His wife seemed in her usual good health, and was perfectly happy in the com-' panionship of their little daughter, .■aged about two; years. On returning to the house about 6 p.m., Hare was able to enter the front door, but bo found the * sitting-room door locked.) ■He- eoiiltf ifdai- Jiis'-child'-crying, bub 'could obtaili no response to his call Tor his 'wife. -He rushed outside and: broke the window, and upon entering found bis wife banging by the neck from they door, and his little girl crying near by.
A WARDER’S DEATH.

Morgan was a man of parts. He fought the Boeis while.’ in South Africa, and distinguished himself by rescuing the Duke of Teck’s mails, for which be received a gold ring and a gold shaving brush from His Highness. At an inquest tonight a verdict of accidental death was returned.
