WEDDING BELLS.
SISARICH—BURKETT. Sole Road, Ngaere, was a scene of activity all day yesterday, on the occasion of the marriage of Miss/Mary Burkett, second daughter of Mr unci Mrs John Burkett, to Mr Dominic Sisarich, of Stratford. The nuptial ceremony was-performed at the Roman Catholic Church, Stratford, at 11 o'clock, by the Rev. Father Maples. The bride, who looked very pretty in her bridal dress of cream taffeta silk, trimmed with embroidery, with veil and orange blossoms, was attended by her sister, Miss A. Burkett, and Miss Julia Dunick, as chief bridesmaids, and Clem and Kate Burkett as pages. The dresses of the bridesmaids were very pretty. Miss Burkett's dress was of silk, trimmed with lace, and Miss Dunick's of cream delaine trimmed with all-over lace. Both wore picture hats to match. The bridegroom was attended by his cousin, Mr S. Dean, as best man, and his brother, Mr V. Sisarich as groomsman. The bridegroom's presents to the bride were a gold brooch and a kauri gum necklet heart; to the bridesmaids, gold brooches set with emeralds and pearls ; to the page girl a gold brooch; to the father a gold tie pin set with opals and pearls; and to the mother a large gold brooch ,set with pearls and a turquoise.
After the ceremony the friends of the happy couple motored, drove, “hiked” or walked, as the case may he, to the former residence of the parents, and there sat down to a sumptuous wedding breakfast, laid out in their well known barn. To .show the popularity of the couple it should he stated that aio less than 160 sat down, and also that 147 separate presents were given all of which were serviceable. The usual toasts and speeches were given. During the breakfast .Mr Bart Onread many telegrams from all over the district, congratulating the newlymarried couple. In the evening a social was held, and fully 200 Ida need the time away until the small hours of this morning. Mr and Mrs I). Sisarich left on a short honeymoon this morning for Palmerston North. The bride wore a blue serge costume trimmed with braid and a white straw hat trimmed with blue.
