The opening match of the Stratford Gun Club was held yesterday. The Mr A. Stewart, fired the first shot, and succeeded in breaking his bird. There was only a fair attendance of members. (By Bisley.) The Stratford Rifle Club had an enjoyable trophy shoot on Thursday afternoon, when ten members put in nn appearance to compote for the trophy. The conditions were seven shots at -'5, 5, and 6 hundred yards, one optional sighter. The winner proved to be Rifleman J. McMeehan, who tied for first place with Rifleman P. Hobson, with a scoreof 90. In the shoot-off they again tied, and then fired snot Cor shot. MeMahon's first was an inner, and Hobson followed with a "Maggie." McMahon received the congratulation of all present. The conditions for shooting were fair, and some excellent scores at different ranges were put up. The following are the nine highest:—
