MIDHIRST MINSTRELS.

A SUCCESSFUL CONCERT.

A most successful concert and dance .as held in the Midhirst Hall on Tuesday in aid of the piano fund. The hall .as artistically decorated with fern •alms, ivy creepers, pink and red oses, Chinese lanterns,, etc., done by he committee—Mesdames Hogg, fuse, and numerous others. The hall was packed: to the utmost, numbers having to stand. The H'Ogramme was long .and well rendered.. The Stratford..orchestra's sclee- • ion was loudly applauded, .Following vas the programme :-r-Song, Mr Cook,'.on,; song, Miss Uhlertberg; song, Mr Valker; duet. Miss .Savage, and Mr Oookson; recitation, Mr Grdchenski; long, Miss Sullivan j comici' song, Mr tVilkie (encored); solig, Mrs Massey (loudly applauded); song, Miss Huse 'encored); song, Mr Hawthorne ,(en.ored) ; song, Mrs Walker; song, Miss -Uillivan; song, Miss Savage (encored) ; •omic song, Mr Wilkie (double encore); ong, Mr Williamson ; Pirates of Pen;ance ballet dancers, Misses Henry, iVillidmSj Sheehaii '■ a.iid Partridge. A land selection brought the concert to :\ close, when three cheers were given, "rii- Mrs Hogg and the committee, also f hrefe cheers for,the Stratford Orches--1 ra. The hall was then cleared for lancing. Refreshments were handed •bund,in abundance, everyone enjoying -•upper to the uttermost; Dancing was kept going till morning. The music for the dancing was excellent, 'icing supplied by Messrs Richardson, Kelly and Wilkie. As a result of the entertainment n substantial sum was realised for the hall piano. Visitors were present from Stratford and liiglowood, a number coming by motor car.
