Twentyrfive were rescued alive. .Ihe fate of the others has not yet been ascertained. They are mostly Italians. The rescuers managed to penetrate to the lower levels! but were unable to reach.most of the men owing to gas filling the tunnels. and ranch owners-from the outlying districts are helping in the rescue work.".--. .. .':.•' Two hundred and fifty miners are still missing.
