Pittsie Ryan, a Canadian newsboy, who claims that he is walking round the world bo win a prize, found himself in the City Court to-day charged with having stolen a purse from an hotel at Broadford. The police stated that accused called at an hotel at Broadford on Sepetmber 7th last, and subsequently he was seen to leave a room from which shortly afterwards a purse containing £4 12s 3d was missed. A remand to Broadford was applied for. Ryan, in opposing the application of the police, said that the delay, would be a serious matter for him. He was walking round the world to win a prize of £OOOO from the Alberta Government and if convicted he wouldr lode his wager. Ryan stoutly denied his guilt. He was remanded to Broadford.
