Madame Bernard leaves by the mail train this evening en route for Auckland on a business trip.
Mrs Bonar, widow of the late Hon. J. A. Bonar, M.L.C., of Hokitika, died at Wanganui last night. She arrived from the Coast about eighteen months ago in failing health. She leaves five sons, Major Bonar, of the Defence Department, Stratford, being one. The other four reside in the Hokitika district.
The. Hon. Trevor Ogilvie-Crant, formerly of the postal service in Wellington has been interviewed by a representative of The People, the well-known Scottish journal. Mr Grant describes the struggles of himself and his brother, the present Earl of Seafield, in New Zealand, and speaks of the Dominion as a very good place for emigrants to keep away from.
